Introduced in 1997, the Platinum Eagles are the only platinum coins ever minted by the US Mint. Our perfect 2005 example is a rare treat.  Our coin was graded on a 70-pt. scale by the major coin grading services, ICG. It is considered legal tender, however due to demand, the collector's value is much higher than face value. 

Minting platinum is time consuming, each coin must be struck multiple times under very high pressure to bring out designs. Regular coins are struck once under low pressure. Your .9995 pure platinum coin is encased in graded acrylic to preserve beauty and condition.
