The new 2006 $5 Gold Eagle that has been independently graded and certified as perfect MS-70 condition. It is the highest graded coin possible.
The fact that it is a perfect MS-70 coin means that it is one of the rarest and most sought-after of all 2006 coins.
The Gold Eagle features the legendary Saint-Gaudens design that first appeared on $20 gold coins from 1907-1933. This image is renowned as the world’s most beautiful coin design, and it was chosen for the Gold Eagle because it is a true American classic.
The design shows Lady Liberty striding forward. She is holding a torch of knowledge and an olive branch of peace, and the rising sun in the background symbolizes the hope brought forward with each new day. The U.S. Capitol building can be seen at about the 7 o’clock position, and the design is surrounded by 50 stars to represent the 50 states. The reverse design shows a family of eagles.
The $5 Gold Eagle is the 1/10-ounce version; it has a $5 face value. It is legal tender, but the face value is nominal because the coin obviously has a far greater gold value and collector value.
All coins are graded on a 70-point scale, with 70 being absolute perfection. It is virtually impossible to find a coin like this in perfect MS-70 – and it is literally impossible to find a better coin. The coin grading company has no connection with FCM, so it is a totally impartial opinion. The coin is also encapsulated in a tamper-proof holder to protect its condition for the future.
The coin is delivered in a deluxe wooden collector’s case.
