. The Lincoln Penny was first minted in 1909 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth.

. It was the first circulating coin to feature a real person instead of Lady Liberty.

. The obverse features a portrait of Lincoln by sculptor Victor D. Brenner.

. The reverse of the coin until 1958 was the legendary "wheat ears" design.

. This bag features 100 genuine classic Lincoln "wheat ears" Pennies.

. These coins have been out of issue for nearly half a century.

. All coins are dated between 1909 and 1958.

. Bag is guaranteed to include a 1943 Steel Penny.

. The 1943 coin was an emergency World War II issue made of steel instead of copper.

. It is the first and only steel coin in U.S. history.

. Also included are five Shellcase Pennies from 1944-1946.

. Shellcase pennies were made with copper from recycled shell cases from World War II battlefields.

. The "wheat ears" design was replaced with the Lincoln Memorial on the reverse in 1959.

. The Lincoln Penny is the longest-running coin in U.S. history.

. The coins come in a canvas bag with a Certificate of Authenticity.

. There are 100 coins in the bag. All coins except 1943 are .950 copper and .050 tin and zinc. The 1943 coin is steel coated with zinc.
