This is a set of 19 coins, Philadelphia and Denver Mint Brilliant Uncirculated Lincoln Cents, Philadelphia and Denver Mint Satin Finish Lincoln Cents and San Francisco Mint Lincoln Presidential Dollar in proof condition.  In 2009, the United States Mint issued four different one-cent coins in recognition of the bicentennial of President Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the first issuance of the Lincoln cent.  The reverse of each coin reflects four different designs, each one representing a different aspect, or theme, of the life of President Lincoln.

The themes for the 2009 reverse designs represent the four major aspects of President Lincoln's life:

Birth and early childhood in Kentucky (1809-1816)

Formative years in Indiana (1816-1830)

Professional Life in Illinois (1830-1861)

Presidency in Washington, DC (1861-1865)

In 2010, the United States Mint issued a new one cent coin to replace the Bicentennial Program.  The new reverse design is emblematic of President Abraham Lincoln's preservation of the United States as a single and united country, and features a Union Shield with a scroll draped across with the inscription ONE CENT.  2010 also marks the year for the release of the 13th through 16th Presidential Dollars, and Lincoln appears on the final coin design this year as the 16th President.

The Philadelphia and Denver Mints coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, as pristine as when they were first released from the United States Mint.   The Satin Finish coins have the exact metallic content of the original 1909 Lincoln cent. These coins are the first "copper-finished" Lincoln cents produced since 1982. These coins are created exclusively for the United States Mint Sets.    No Satin finish coins are released into circulation or are made available individually.  Satin Finish coins look different from regular coins because the dies are sandblasted with a fine mixture of sand and glass beads.  They are very distinctive.

The 2010 Lincoln Presidential Dollar is in Proof condition and bears the "S" Mint Mark on the incused edge of the coin.  Proof coins are unlike regular U.S. coins, because they are struck at least twice on highly polished coin blanks to bring out the mirrored background and high-relief images.  They look very different from regular U.S. coins and because of the extra time it takes to strike each coin, only a limited number of Proof coins are produced each year.  They are never made again.

It would be hard to assemble a unique collection such as this on your own.  Original United States Mint Sets and Proof Sets had to be broken up to create this 19 piece collection.
