Starting in 2009, the Sacagawea Dollar became the Native American Dollar, with each year’s coin featuring a different reverse design honoring Native American culture and history.

• The 2012 coin is the fourth coin in the Native American Dollars series.

• The theme for the 2012 coin is the spread of the horse across North America.  The horse allowed Native Americans to extend their range, become better hunters, trade more easily with other tribes and American settlers, and become more adept at warfare.

• The obverse retains the portrait of Sacagawea, the first identifiable Native American on a circulating U.S. coin.

• This one-year-only coin is certified as one of the highest quality 2012 Native American Dollars.

• Coins are graded on a 70-point scale, with MS-60 being standard Brilliant Uncirculated.

• This coin is MS-67, or seven full grades better than a regular Brilliant Uncirculated coin.

• The coin is graded and certified by an independent coin grading company.

• The coin is encapsulated in a sonically-sealed holder; the grade is guaranteed as long as it remains intact.
