2020-W Silver Eagle Satin Finish SP70

The United States Mint has rarely issued an edition of the Silver Eagle Dollar struck on a burnished ("satin finish") planchet. The "satin finish" coin features the same finish as the bullion counterpart but unlike the bullion and Proof coins it is struck on a burnished planchet and bears the "W" mint mark of the West Point Mint.

This 2020 coin is certified as perfect Specimen 70 condition (abbreviated SP70 to distinguish it from bullion Uncirculated coins) making this the rarest and best of the 2020 Silver Eagles. All coins are graded on a 70-point scale with 70 being absolute perfection.
The coin is encapsulated in a tamper-proof holder to protect it for the future and to preserve its SP70 certification. The Silver Eagle is minted in one ounce of .9993 pure silver so it is the largest heaviest and purest silver coin in U.S. history. The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's famous "Walking Liberty" design that first appeared on U.S. Silver Half Dollars from 1916-1947.

The first satin finish Silver Eagle was released in 2006 for the 20th Anniversary of the Silver Eagle. Satin finish Silver Eagles were not produced in 2009 and 2010.
