2023 Australia 1oz Silver Lunar Rabbit BU

This coin is the fourth release in Australia’s Lunar Series III program that celebrates animals in the Chinese zodiac. It depicts a pair of rabbits along with the Chinese symbol for “Rabbit.” The coin’s obverse shows the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.

These magnificent silver coins celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, the fourth of twelve animals associated with the ancient Chinese lunar calendar.

 Those born under the sign of the Chinese lunar rabbit in 2023, 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975 and every 12th preceding year, are said to be intelligent, creative, vigilant and compassionate.

The Perth Mint will produce up to 300,000 1oz coins. Production will cease when the mintage is fully sold or at the end of the series, whichever comes first. Due to the low mintage of the 1oz size it is highly sought-after and is sure to sell out fast.

Struck in a full ounce of 99.99% pure silver, the $1 legal-tender 2023 Australia Lunar Year of the Rabbit Silver Coin depicts an alert rabbit with its ears erect and another rabbit stretching towards a budding branch. Below the branch and to the right of the rabbits is the Chinese symbol for “Rabbit.”

The design is made even more fantastic thanks to the Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) finish that features razor-sharp details that are as fresh and crisp as they day the coin left the mint. You can even see the famous “P” mint mark in the lower right portion of the design!
