Vatican Guardian Angel Pendant

This 200 Lire coin was  issued by the Vatican City.     Vatican City is the smallest country in the world. Encircled by a 2-mile border with Italy, Vatican City is an independent city-state that covers just over 100 acres, making it one-eighth the size of New York's Central Park. Vatican City is governed as an absolute monarchy with the pope at its head. Vatican City mints its own coins and Vatican coins (with the exception of gold and silver coins) are legal tender throughout Italy and the rest of the European Union. In 2001,  Vatican City State  switched to the Euro as its official currency.   This obsolete coin features an Angel holding a torch and scales, symbolizing truth and justice, guiding two mortals. The  coin has been plated in 2K gold, and is featured in a gold-tone beaded bezel with an 18" rope chain included.
