Jovita Idar wrote in-depth articles exposing the injustices and violence that affected women and Mexican-Americans. She founded multiple organizations to foster education and assistance for children as well as empowering women to learn, participate and stand against the injustices.
This American Women Quarters Three-Roll Set – Jovita Idar contains single rolls of 40 coins, for a total of 120 coins in each set. They are struck at the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints.
The reverse (tails) of the coin features a depiction of Jovita Idar with her hands clasped. Within her body are inscriptions representing some of her greatest accomplishments and the newspapers for which she wrote.
