This is the first Silver Britannia using the effigy of King Charles III.

On September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96. She was the longest reigning monarch in British history and the world's oldest head of state.

In 1952, at the age of 26, Elizabeth became queen upon the unexpected death of her father George VI. For 70 years, she was a link to the almost-vanished generation that fought World War II, and she was the only monarch most Britons have ever known.

Immediately upon her death, her 73-year-old son Prince Charles became king and will be known as King Charles III.

The Britannia is a stunning British bullion coin issued by The Royal Mint since 1997. Starting in the year 2013 and onward, the Silver Britannia has been produced with .999 fine silver (prior-to-2013 Britannia’s are .958 fine). The image of Britannia, the female personification of the Island of Great Britain, has appeared on UK coinage for almost 2,000 years.
