The Eisenhower Dollar was America's last large-size Dollar coin ever minted for circulation. It was minted only from 1971-1978 and is a treasured piece of American history. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 1976, the U.S. Mint struck a special one-time-only commemorative Eisenhower Dollar coin. The coin was struck at both the Philadelphia and Denver mints in Uncirculated condition and at the San Francisco Mint in Proof quality. This collection includes all three coins. (Philadelphia coin has no mint mark.)

The obverse features the portrait of President Dwight D. Eisenhower that first appeared of Dollar coins in 1971. It also includes the dual dates 1776 1976 to honor the 200 years since the Declaration of Independence. It was the first dual-dated coin issued for circulation.

The unique reverse design depicts the Liberty Bell and the Moon to symbolize 200 years from the era of the American Revolution to the era of space travel in the 1970s. This was the first commemorative Dollar coin issued for circulation. The Proof coin was available only in official Proof Sets and was not released into circulation. It is the hardest coin to find and is the key to the three-coin set.
