 A Jubilee marks a major milestone in the reign of a Monarch, celebrating their life and service. The naming of these celebrations follows the traditions of wedding anniversaries: 25 years is called a Silver Jubilee, 40 years a Ruby Jubilee, 50 years a Golden Jubilee, 60 years a Diamond Jubilee, 65 years a Sapphire Jubilee and 70 years a Platinum Jubilee.

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest reigning monarch in British history and the world’s oldest head of state.  The 96-year-old queen was the first British monarch in history to reach a Platinum Jubilee.
